By NU Athletic Communications

Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska gymnastics team overcame struggles on several events to pull out a solid team victory over Illinois on Friday night, earning a 195.750-194.750 win at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Huskers (3-1, 3-1 Big Ten) swept all four events and the all-around in front of a crowd of 1,725 fans to hand Illinois (2-4, 1-2 Big Ten) their fourth loss of the season.

"I'm proud of the effort," Head Coach Dan Kendig said. "I'm not disappointed in that, but I know this team has more in them. We'll go back to work in the gym this week. It's our first full week of practice since the season started, so we're looking forward to that."

Jessie DeZiel led the way for Nebraska, tying for the floor title (9.85) en route to picking up her first all-around win of 2013 with a season-best 39.425.
