Lincoln - The Nebraska softball team rode a powerful offensive performance to an 11-3 victory over UNO in game one Saturday, before Tatum Edwards' one-hitter pitched the Huskers to a 1-0 victory over Colorado State in game two at the Doris Bair Softball Complex.

Nebraska's 11-3 victory over UNO in game one was fueled by a powerful offensive performance. Junior Taylor Edwards hit two home runs in the win, while senior Brooke Thomason homered once. Through seven games this fall the duo, who bat third and fourth in the Husker lineup, have combined for six home runs. Thomason's two-run blast in the first inning put Nebraska on top for good and ignited Nebraska's highest-scoring game of the fall. Taylor Edwards had four RBIs in the win - courtesy of a three-run homer and a solo shot - while freshman Sammi Noland delivered a two-run, bases-loaded single to finish with a pair of RBIs.

The offensive performance was encouraging considering it came against UNO starter Dana Elsasser, who allowed only two earned runs against Nebraska in two complete games and 14.0 total innings last spring. Elsasser took the loss for UNO on Saturday and was unable to go the distance, while freshman right-hander Emily Lockman earned a complete-game victory for Nebraska, improving to 3-0 in the fall. Lockman allowed six hits and struck out four in the win.

In game two, Edwards dominated the Rams' lineup in a one-hit, complete-game effort. She struck out eight and worked around four walks and a hit batter. Edwards took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before an infield single spoiled the no-hit bit. Edwards also drove in Nebraska's lone run with an RBI ground out with the bases loaded in the fourth inning.

Nebraska wraps up its fall exhibition season on Sunday. The Huskers open play at the Doris Bair Softball Complex at 10 a.m. against Colorado State. The Rams and UNO play at 12:30 p.m. before Nebraska and UNO wrap up play at 3 p.m.
