Nebraska senior Shawnice Williams was honored by the Big Ten Conference on Monday as she was selected as the league’s female track athlete of the week. The honor marks the first indoor track and field weekly award of her career.
Williams finished first in the 600 meters at the Nebraska Tune-Up over the weekend, posting a time of 1:29.70. She currently ranks second in the conference in the event.
The Huskers are set to compete at the 2014 Big Ten Indoor Championships this weekend in Geneva, Ohio as Nebraska will look to add to its 105 team conference titles.
