Two Huskers Compete at Visa Championships

St. Louis, Mo. -- Nebraska men's gymnasts Wyatt Baier and Eric Schryver competed for a chance to qualify for the U.S. National Team at the 2012 Visa Championships over the weekend.

Baier, a 2013 senior from Denver, Colo., finished 31st overall, while Schryver, a 2013 junior from Richardson, Texas, settled for 37th overall in the field of America's top gymnasts. Both were shooting for top-15 finishes in order to advance to the Olympic Trials June 28-July 1 in San Jose, Calif.

Baier produced his best individual result in the vault, where he finished 23rd with a two-day total of 30.400. He he also competed in the floor exercise and parallel bars competition.

Schryver performed well on pommel horse, claiming a tie for 10th on the event with a two-day total of 27.650. He also competed on parallel bars and high bar.
