Ameer Abdullah
So., I-back, Homewood, Ala.

On what he sees in the senior class
“They have character. The high standard that they came in with in January and the model of how they wanted the team to operate. The character they have really held our team together in tough times. “

On how the seniors led the team in the offseason after the Capital One Bowl
“They just put their foot down. There were some things we needed to change in the offseason. They put their foot down, made the changes and tried to progress as a team. “

On how he feels after last week’s game
“I feel fine.”

On what advice Rex Burkhead gives him
He gives a lot of encouragement. If it’s something I need to fix he will let me know. Mostly he gives a lot of encouragement.”

On what areas he feels he has grown the most over the season
“I think I have more confidence. I have a better feel for the team. Through playing more and more I have a good sense of where the offense is going to be on the field. I still need to work on my patience, but my patience has gotten better. I have learned to be patient on certain plays, while others I can really go.”

On what element he would like to add to his game
“I just want to be a more physical running back. I think I have proved myself that I’m not just a speed back; I can run in between the tackles. I still want to improve on my zone improving game. I still feel like I need to improve on my vision a little bit.”

On what it would mean to have Rex Burkhead back on the field
“It would make the offense that much more dynamic. We would hopefully be able to limit turnovers, like we have been trying to do. It would add another great element to our offense."
