Huskers Third After Day One at GARCs

Oxford, Miss. - The Nebraska rifle team is sitting in third place overall after one day of competition at the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) championships. The Huskers fired a season-high aggregate score of 2,312 on the smallbore range to come in behind West Virginia (2,335) and regular-season champion Kentucky (2,329) on Saturday at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center.

Senior and honorable mention All-GARC smallbore selection Katelyn Woltersdorf and freshman Denise Martin led the way for the Huskers, earning identical scores of 580 on the day. West Virginia's Petra Zublasing took top honors in the discipline, posting a score of 595 overall.

The Huskers will continue conference championship competition tomorrow as they take to the air rifle range. Team air rifle competition will kick off at 8:30 a.m. CST. Fans not in attendance can follow the action by visiting the championship central page at OleMissSports.com.
