Lincoln - Nebraska's Cassie Deeg captured her second Big Ten Golfer-of-the-Week award, the conference office announced on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Deeg, a sophomore for Hugo, Minn., tied for fifth at the 17-team team Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, Oct. 27-29. In a tournament shortened to just 36 holes by high winds on Monday, Deeg fired a one-under-par two-round total of 143 (71-72) on the 6,162-yard layout of the Stallion Mountain Golf Club.

Deeg's performance marked her second top-five finish of the fall season, joining her individual title at Nebraska's season-opening Chip-N Club Invitational, Sept. 9-10, at Wilderness Ridge. Her effort at the Chip-N Club Invitational also claimed her Big Ten Golfer-of-the-Week honors on Sept. 11.

Deeg finished Nebraska's fall campaign with a 76.21 stroke average over 14 rounds.
