Three Husker gymnasts, Arndt Donovan, Mark Ringle and Eric Schryver were among the 55 student-athletes who received their diplomas during spring commencement on Saturday, May 10 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Schryver, a CoSIDA Academic All-American received his degree in nutrition sciences. He was a leader on pommel horse, parallel bars and high bar and competed as an individual at the NCAA Championships on parallel bars in 2012.
Ringle, first-team Academic All-American, earned his bachelor’s degree in nutrition sciences. Ringle suffered a season ending injury in his final season but was nominated by the team as one of the four co-captains for his dedication to the team.
Arndt, a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American, achieved his degree in business marketing on Saturday. As a ring specialist, Arndt earned a spot as an individual competition at the 2012 NCAA Championships and owned one event title.
NU’s May 2014 graduates came from near and far to call Nebraska home during their careers. The group came to Lincoln from 13 states, including 22 native Nebraskans. Members of the graduating class also came from five foreign countries, including Canada, Germany, Hungary, Latvia and Singapore.
Nebraska continues to feature one of the highest graduation rates in the country, while leading the nation in the number of CoSIDA Academic All-Americans (310) and NCAA Top 10 Award winners (17) across all sports.
