Former Husker swimmer Ariel Weech and current Husker swimmer Bria Deveaux are set to represent their home country, the Bahamas, at the 2013 World University Games beginning this week in Kazan, Russia. Both Weech and Deveaux will be competing in the 50- and 100-meter backstrokes, butterflies, and freestyles at the competition.

Weech completed her senior season for the Huskers in 2012-13 and swam the second-fastest 100-yard freestyle time (49.13) in school history. She also recorded the third-fastest 50-yard freestyle (22.81) and was a member of four relay teams that set school records at the 2013 Big Ten Championships.

Deveaux concluded her freshman campaign at Nebraska in 2013-14, recording 10 top-five finishes on the season. She set three career bests at the 2013 Big Ten Championships, including a time of 54.91 in the 100-yard butterfly that earned her 21st overall.
