Huskers Drop 5-0 Decision to No. 1 Pepperdine
Chula Vista, Calif.- The Nebraska sand volleyball team continued its first day of competition on Thursday at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center as the No. 9 Huskers dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 1 Pepperdine.
Nebraska's No. 1 team of Kelsey Robinson and Alexa Strange fell to Pepperdine's top duo of Lilla Fredrick and Kim Hill 21-23, 14-21. Hayley Thramer and Amber Rolfzen dropped a two-set match to Lara Dykstra and Caitlin Racich 15-21, 11-21.
Kadie Rolfzen and Morgan Broekhuis fell to Kelley Larsen and Kellie Woolever 11-21, 13-21, while Meghan Haggerty and Sheridan Zarda were edged in three sets (21-17, 15-21, 4-15) by Taylor Racich and Emily Cook. Cecilia Hall and Kelsey Fien dropped their match to Victoria Adelheim and Jazmine Orosco 17-21, 16-21.
Nebraska fell to Florida State 4-1 earlier on Thursday afternoon. The Huskers will return to action tomorrow at the Chula Vista Tournament with Florida State, Pepperdine, CSU Bakersfield and Grand Canyon.
