Aiken, S.C. - The Nebraska men's golf team is
tied for 14th after shooting 599 over two rounds on Monday at the
Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.
The Huskers
opened with 305 in the first round at Palmetto Golf Club, a par-70, 6,617-yard
layout, before producing 294 in the second round. South Carolina leads the team
competition by one stroke over North Carolina State with 18 holes to play. The
Gamecocks posted 570 on Monday.
Junior Matt
Record led the way for NU on Monday, posting 148. Record carded a first-round
75 before a 3-over-par 73 in the second round. He is tied for 38th
after 36 holes.
Manuel
Lavin is tied for 43rd after the first two rounds. He paced his way
to a 78 in the first round, then fired the best Husker score of the day with a
1-over-par 71 in the second round. Lavin sits at 149 strokes with 18 holes to
play.
Kevin
Gillick is two shots behind Lavin at 151. Gillick posted 75 in the first round
and followed that with a second-round 76. The senior is tied for 52nd.
Freshman
Kolton Lapa is tied for 65th after shooting 153 on Monday. Lapa
carded rounds of 77 and 76 in the first and second rounds, respectively. Following
his most recent performance, he was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week on Feb.

Jordan
Reinertson opened with an 81 before rebounding with a second-round 4-over-par
74. The senior's 155 total puts him in a tie for 73rd.
The final
round of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate starts on Tuesday at 8
a.m. CT. The Huskers start on Hole No. 10 and will play with Wofford and
Francis Marion.
