The Nebraska bowling team finished third out of 28
teams at the James Brown Invitational, hosted by Morgan State University in Towson, Md., on Sunday. The Huskers finished the three-day event with a 9-3 overall record
behind tournament champion Maryland Eastern Shore.
Head Coach Bill Straub was impressed with the team’s performance
throughout the weekend, but would like to see the team be more consistent in
competition.
“We are pleased with the number of wins we had considering
the competition we faced,” Straub said, “We have two weeks off so hopefully we
can get more consistent as we get to the end of our season.”
Leading the way for NU was sophomore Liz Kuhlkin. Kuhlkin
finished 12th in the individual standings, with a weekend average of
202.
“Liz really helped us out today in the final brackets,”
Straub said, “Her performance throughout the weekend was admirable.”
The Nebraska bowling team will travel to the Greater Ozark Challenge
March 1-3 held in Kansas City, Mo.
