Nebraska’s annual Red-White Spring Game is set for Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium, with kickoff at 2 p.m.

More than 40,000 reserved tickets for Saturday’s game have been sold, with a large walk-up crowd expected on Saturday. Fans hoping to avoid long lines and delays at ticket windows or will call windows on Saturday are encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible through Huskers.com, by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 800-8-BIG RED, or in person during the week at the Ticket Office (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Reserved tickets for the game are $10 each, while youth eighth grade or younger will be admitted free if they take the Drug Free Pledge at halftime of Saturday’s game. Youth must still secure a complimentary ticket for admittance by contacting the Ticket Office this week. On game day, complimentary tickets for youth must be obtained at the Ticket Office main inside windows. Free youth tickets will not be available at any of the satellite ticket selling locations around the stadium.

Fans attending the Red-White game are reminded that ongoing construction on the East Stadium will impact entrances and traffic flow for the game. Gates 16, 20 and 23 on the east side will be open and East Stadium seating will function as it did during the 2012 season.

The following reminders should be of assistance for those planning to attend Saturday’s game.

  • Fans purchasing tickets on Saturday can do so at the following locations—The Athletic Ticket Office in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage, Gate 10 ticket windows (NW corner of stadium) and outside Gate 20 (East side). The ticket office and other ticket selling locations will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
  • All seating areas in Memorial Stadium with the exception of the new seats in East Stadium will be available for the spring game.
  • UNL Parking Services will cashier Lot 9 (14th and Avery Parking Garage) and other campus lots for public parking. The charge will be $5 per vehicle. Public parking will also be available at Haymarket Park for $5.
  • STARTRAN will be providing shuttle service from South Pointe Pavilions (27th and Pine Lake) and North Star High School (5801 No. 33rd Street). The buses will park on R Street near the Lied Center. Shuttles begin at noon and return trips start at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Cost is $4 per person each way.
  • The Husker Nation Pavilion (HNP) will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. directly northeast of Memorial Stadium on the Gass Practice Field. First National Bank will be sponsoring an autograph zone from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. with former Huskers Rex Burkhead, Will Compton, Ben Cotton, Brett Maher, and Kyler Reed scheduled to appear.
  • Also at HNP, fans will have the opportunity to drop off items for the 2062 Time Capsule that will be placed near the East Stadium addition as part of the 50 Years of Consecutive Sellouts Streak. Youth will also have the opportunity to fill-out kid activity sheets, sign-up a drug free pledge that will be placed in the capsule, and to take their photo at the Time Capsule photo booth.
  • Nebraska will honor several student-athletes during pregame ceremonies. The presentation of the Brook Berringer Citizenship Team will happen approximately 20 minutes before kickoff. The Huskers’ first-time football letterwinners will be honored before kickoff
  • The Cletus Fischer Scholarship will be presented on Saturday and the Dr. Barbara Hibner Trailblazer Award will also be recognized.

Following the Red-White game, the Nebraska volleyball team will take on Iowa State in a 6 p.m. match at the Nebraska Coliseum. A separate ticket is required for that match, and those can be purchased through the Athletic Ticket Office.

Husker Sports Network will provide live radio coverage of the Red-White game statewide and around the world through Huskers.com. The game will be televised live on BTN at 2 p.m. and also available on BTN2Go.
