Lincoln - The Nebraska women's basketball team joined with more than 2,000 Husker fans at Big Red Tip-Off Tuesday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Well over 1,000 Husker fans stood outside and waited for the doors to open for Nebraska's season-opening event, which began at 5 p.m. in downtown Lincoln, before rushing inside to watch the end of the Huskers' Tuesday afternoon practice.
Following the practice, Nebraska players participated in a three-point contest, a skills competition and a half-court shot contest.
After the competitions, master of ceremonies Matt Coatney from the Husker Sports Network helped Nebraska's 11 players introduce each other to the crowd.
Coach Connie Yori wrapped up the evening ceremonies with a quick pep talk for Husker fans, before the Huskers signed hundreds of posters for young fans.
