Now that we know Nebraska’s annual Red/White Spring Football Game has a 2 p.m. CT kickoff on Saturday, April 12th, it’s time to remind Husker fans that the best way to purchase tickets is online at It’s fast; it’s easy; and it’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A Ticket Office manager told me Tuesday that more than 28,000 tickets already have been sold for the Spring Game, and now is a good time to lock in a reserved seat. The game previously had been announced as a 1 p.m. kickoff, and “any possible television plans for the game are still to be determined,” a Nebraska spokesperson said Tuesday.

Be Ready is the theme for Nebraska football’s overall 2014 ticket renewal campaign. “It’s not a promise of a magical moment, but it’s a call to be ready for something special from our 2014 team,” said Michael Stephens, Nebraska’s Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing. “This team is already preparing hard, dreaming big and setting its sights on reaching their goal of winning the conference championship in 2014.” Stephens believes this video could serve as a spark for the Spring Game because returning Husker players have their sights set on the 2014 Big Ten Championship following a 24-19 win over SEC power Georgia in Jacksonville’s Gator Bowl on New Year’s Day.

The video communicates the team’s enthusiasm for what will be the 125th season of Nebraska football. Watch the video and see why Husker players see 2014 as their time, their moment and their opportunity to deliver. The springboard to all of that, of course, is spring practice, which begins March 8th and continues through the NCAA limit of 15 practices, culminating in the April 12th Spring Game. A short spring break will follow the first two weeks of spring practice before the Huskers return. Nebraska’s 15th “practice” is the Spring Game, which will include an annual Drug-Free Pledge.
