Huskers in 10th After Two Rounds

French Lick, Ind. – The Nebraska men’s golf team is in 10th place at the Big Ten Championships after shooting 608 over the first two rounds on Friday.

The Huskers opened with 311 in the morning at the Pete Dye Golf Course, a par-72, 7,152-yard layout. NU responded with 297 in the second round for its 32-over-par total. Illinois leads the team competition with 36 holes to play at 585 strokes.

Kolton Lapa is tied for 23rd at 150 strokes. The freshman made one birdie, four bogeys and one double bogey in the first round en route to a 5-over-par 77. In the second round, Lapa birdied the 14th and added two bogeys for a 73.

Senior Jordan Reinertson opened with 78 on Friday, using two birdies, five bogeys and one triple bogey. He bounced back, like Lapa, with a 73 in the second round. Reinertson made three birdies and four bogeys in the afternoon. His 151 total places him in a tie for 26th through 36 holes.

Matt Record shot 154 on Friday and is tied for 39th. He opened with two birdies and six bogeys for a 4-over-par 76. Record made three bogeys and one triple bogey for a 78 in the second round.

Neil Dufford is tied for 49th after carding 156 over two rounds in French Lick. The senior posted an 83 in the first round before a second-round 73. Manuel Lavin put together rounds of 80 and 81 for a 161 total that places him in 58th.

Saturday’s third round starts at 9 a.m., on the first and 10th tees.
