Weech, Deveaux Compete in World University Games
Current Husker swimmer Bria Deveaux and former Husker Ariel Weech finished competing at the World University Games Wednesday in Kazan, Russia. Both Deveaux and Weech competed for their home country of the Bahamas saw impressive times at the World Games, but neither made it out of the prelims in their events.
Deveaux, a sophomore, competed in the 50- and 100-meter backstroke, butterfly and freestyle during her time in Russia. Deveaux produced solid times in the 100-meter backstroke (107.36) and in the 50-meter freestyle (27.34), but did not make it out of the prelims in the competition.
Weech, a former Husker who just completed her senior season at Nebraska competed in the same events as Deveaux besides the 100-meter freestyle (DNP). Weech produced good times for her home country of the Bahamas, but did not beat any of her personal record times.
