NU Ready to Host Hoosiers and Boilermakers
The No. 66 Huskers welcome No. 69 Indiana on Friday, April 4 at 3 p.m. before hosting No. 33 Purdue on Sunday, April 6 at noon. The Huskers sit at 9-9 overall, with a 3-6 mark against ranked teams including a 1-3 mark in the Big Ten. The Huskers dropped both matches last weekend with a 3-4 loss to Michigan State and were swept 7-0 by the Michigan Wolverines.
Huskers In The ITA National Rankings
Nebraska dropped to No. 66 in the ITA Top 75 after its double-loss weekend. The national ITA Top 75 rankings were released on Tuesday, April 1.
The Cornhuskers are one of 11 Big Ten teams in the ITA Top 75. Nebraska is joined by No. 1 Ohio State, No. 11 Illinois, No. 24 Penn State, No. 33 Purdue, No. 37 Northwestern, No. 43 Michigan, No. 51 Minnesota, No. 69 Indiana, No. 70 Wisconsin, and No. 73 Michigan State. Ohio State and Illinois are the only two Big Ten teams in the top ten and are joined by Penn State to be the only three in the top 25.
The Huskers are the eighth-highest ranked Big Ten team. The Huskers are 3-6 against ranked opponents suffering losses to No. 36 Florida State, No. 53 Texas Tech, No. 49 Louisville, No. 45 Drake, No. 50 Minnesota, and No. 46 Michigan while toppling No. 52 Denver and Wisconsin twice while they were ranked No. 66 and No. 58.

The Hoosiers are 12-12 coming off of a win to face the No. 66-ranked Huskers. Indiana went 18-14 overall in 2013 and 6-5 in conference play, losing 4-2 to Michigan in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament and didn’t qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The Hoosiers are currently ranked No. 69 in the ITA Top 75 with one ranked singles in No. 93 Sam Monetter and one ranked doubles pair in No. 66 Sam Monette and Daniel Bednarczyk. The last match between the two teams was on Sunday, April 7, 2013 that resulted in a 6-1 victory for the Hoosiers.

The Boilermakers are 11-3 and 3-1 in conference play coming off of a four-match winning streak against all ranked teams headint to Lincoln to face the No. 66-ranked Nebraska Huskers. Purdue went 19-12 overall in 2013 with a 3-8 Big Ten mark and fell 4-0 to Ohio State in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament while not qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. Purdue is ranked No. 33 as a team in the ITA Top 75 and has no ranked singles or doubles players in the ITA rankings. The last match between the Boilermakers and the Huskers was on Friday, April 5, 2013 in West Lafayette, Ind., that resulted in a 7-0 win for Purdue.
