The Nebraska women's tennis program has added Hannah Sulz to its 2013-14 roster, Coach Scott Jacobson announced on Wednesday, May 22.
Sulz, a four-star recruit from Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, Canada, will walk-on to the Husker program as a true freshman. She was recruited by both Jacobson and Associate Head Coach Hayden Perez.
“We are honored to have Hannah as the most recent member of our Husker family," Jacobson said. "She will be a positive role model for the program. We believe Hannah has the ability to step in and impact our program immediately. I know her commitment to the game is strong, and she will be incredibly ready when she steps on our campus this August. I expect Hannah to have a tremendously positive impact on our program and her teammates. It is our privilege to welcome her to our team.”
Sulz, who boasts an ITF junior ranking of No. 16 in Canada, reached the finals in doubles at the Cal State LA ITA Tournament in July 2012. She was a semifinalist in singles at the Andulka Park Adult Open tournament, and a doubles champion at the same event. Sulz won multiple open tournaments in southern California. She also graduated with honors, earning a provincial scholarship for academic excellence.
Sulz also claimed the Governor General's Academic Medal for her performance in secondary school with the highest average upon graduation.
