Huskers Shine in USA Volleyball Action

Kayla Banwarth, Lauren Cook and Kelsey Robinson will all participate in the second Red-Blue intrasquad scrimmage today at the Windward School in Los Angeles.

At the last scrimmage on May 17, Robinson tallied nine points and a match-high 16 digs with 61 positive reception percent while playing libero the first set and outside hitter the rest of the match. Kayla Banwarth added six digs and a 65 positive reception percent. Cook had 30 assists.

In other USA Volleyball news, Amber Rolfzen was selected to play for the 2013 U.S. Women’s Junior National Volleyball Training Team that will train at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y., beginning June 5. The 13 players selected will be narrowed down to 12 to make up the 2013 U.S. Women’s Junior National Team. The team will represent the United States at the 2013 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U-21 World Championships June 21-30 in the Czech Republic.
