Nebraska senior goalkeeper Emma Stevens was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday after she helped the Huskers finish the regular-season conference road schedule 5-0 with a pair of road victories at Wisconsin and Minnesota over the weekend. The No. 22 Huskers (12-3-1, 7-1-0 Big Ten) remain at the top of the Big Ten Conference standings with three league home matches remaining.

The Corona, Calif. native made six saves in Friday's double-overtime victory in Madison as Caroline Gray notched the game-winning goal with one second remaining to stun the Badgers, 2-1. On Sunday, Stevens surpassed former Husker Erin Miller (239) to become the all-time leader in saves at Nebraska. The graduate student made six stops in a 1-0 win at Minnesota and sits alone in first place with 245 career saves after her 30th career victory and eighth-career shutout.

The Nebraska keeper, with help from her stingy defensive unit, has amassed a 0.85 goals-against average in Big Ten action allowing seven goals in eight matches. In road league matches, Stevens boasts an impressive 0.77 GAA stopping 29 shots in five matches at a 87.9 percent clip. Overall, Stevens has already posted a single-season career-best 12 victories allowing 17 goals in 16 matches.
