Boyer Rolls To Qualifying Singles Second Round

Tulsa, Okla. - The Nebraska men's tennis team remains in the competition at the ITA All-American Championships Invite on Monday. Dusty Boyer snags two wins to round out the prequalifying bracket and advance to round two in qualifying singles while both doubles teams are ready to hit the court.

In the final round of prequalifying singles, Boyer notched a victory over Drake's Matt Frost 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 as fellow Husker Marc Herrmann fell to Mississippi's Stefan Lindmark 4-6, 1-6. 

Moving into the qualifying draw on his prequalifying sweep, Boyer grabbed a first round qualifying win over UAB's Rafael Rondino 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. 

On Tuesday, Boyer is set to face ITA pre-seaon No. 87-ranked Joran Vliegen of East Carolina.

In qualifying doubles, Nebraska's two pairs played no matches on Monday after receiving first round byes. NU's Tom Blackwell and Herrmann are set to shoot it out across from ITA pre-seaon No. 46-ranked DePaul's Filip Dzanko and David Vieyra. The scarlet and cream's Boyer and Beau Treyz go head-to-head against Tulsa's Japie De Klerk and Matt Kirby.
