ESPN/ABC announced Friday the kickoff time and television information for Nebraska’s regular-season finale against Iowa on Friday, Nov. 29. The third annual Heroes Game at Memorial Stadium will be televised on ABC with kickoff set for 11 a.m. CT.
The Nebraska-Iowa game is being played on Black Friday for the third straight year in 2013. Nebraska has defeated Iowa in each of the first two Heroes Games, winning 20-7 in Lincoln in 2011 and posting a 13-7 win at Iowa City last season.
Nebraska owns a 28-12-3 all-time advantage in the series between the schools, and has won each of the past five meetings. Nebraska is 14-2-1 against the Hawkeyes in Lincoln.
The 2013 matchup between Nebraska and Iowa will mark the 24th straight season Nebraska has played on the day after Thanksgiving. Nebraska played Oklahoma from 1990 to 1995 in the final six seasons of the Big Eight Conference, and Colorado on that day in each of the 15 seasons the two schools were in the Big 12 Conference (1996-2010). Nebraska has an 18-5 record in its 23-year streak of playing on Black Friday.
Nebraska has learned kickoff times for four of its eight home games in 2013. In addition to Friday’s announcement, the Huskers’ game times have also been set for Wyoming on Aug. 31 (7 p.m., BTN), Southern Miss on Sept. 7 (5 p.m., BTN) and Illinois on Oct. 5 (11 a.m., TV TBD).
