Lincoln, Neb. - Nebraska diver Anna Filipcic garnered Big Ten Diver-of-the-Week honors Tuesday afternoon following her performance at the Hawkeye Invitational last weekend.
The freshman scored a career-best 331.10 on her way to victory in the three-meter dive on Saturday. Filipcic also earned a fourth-place finish in the one-meter dive on Friday, posting a score of 277.15. Both dives met NCAA Zone Diving standards for Filipcic, who has earned 11 top-five finishes, including six victories, on the season.
Tuesday’s honor is the first of Filipcic's career and the first Big Ten Diver-of-the-Week honor earned by a Husker since joining the conference.
Filipcic and the Huskers take on Northern Iowa and Nebraska-Omaha on the road this Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13 and 14, to close out the fall competition season. Check back in to Huskers.com for updates.
