Nebraska had a full day on Thursday in San Antonio as the Huskers prepared for their Friday matchup with Baylor at the AT&T Center.

Head Coach Tim Miles and sophomore standouts Terran Petteway and Shavon Shields were first up with the media at a Thursday morning news conference. Miles said he wants the Huskers to enjoy the situation but to remember the reason they are in San Antonio.

"I feel like we come into this with a business mentality, but I want the guys to enjoy the moment.  But the idea is just not to get distracted," Miles said. " We practiced really well the two days before we got here.  But now here comes the distractions.  There's all kinds of fans.  There is all this stuff, this great media stuff.  And it's easy to get distracted, and it's easy to get ‑‑ start thinking about the other stuff.  But when one of your players like Terran Petteway comes up and says, Coach, tonight 8:00 you're taking our phones, I think that's a pretty good mindset of one of your leaders on the team.  A guy that's been voted captain by his teammates that they are locked in and they're here to win.  That's what we set out to do."

When Tom hired me, Coach Osborne, I said this is what we want to do.  We want to exceed expectations.  We want to go to the NCAA tournament and win.  It's never been done.  It can be done.  I've won in a lot of tournaments, but not in the NCAA, so I'm looking forward to one for me too.

Following the news conference, the Huskers hit the court at the home of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs for a 40-minute open practice session. Nebraska was also scheduled to practice later in the afternoon as they continue to prepare for the matchup with the 24-11 Baylor Bears.

Nebraska will take on Baylor on Friday in the second round of the NCAA West Regional. Game time is set for 11:40 a.m. with television coverage on TruTv. Radio coverage of the game will be available on the Husker Sports Network, beginning at 10:30 a.m. (CT)
