Filipcic Finishes Day One in Minneapolis

Minneapolis, Minn. - Anna Filipcic claimed 22nd in the one-meter dive, completing her first day of competition at the NCAA Championships on Thursday evening at the University of Minnesota's Aquatic Center.

Filipcic recorded a score of 267.00 en route to her 22nd-place in the one-meter dive's preliminary round. Minnesota's Maggie Keefer was the lone Big Ten diver to finish ahead of Filipcic in the prelims, taking eighth with a score of 291.35. Laura Ryan of Georgia took first place in the prelims with a score of 312.35.

Filipcic will compete in her best event, the three-meter dive, on the second day of the NCAA Championships. Preliminaries are set to begin at 11 a.m. on Friday (Gopher Sports live stream), with finals beginning at 7 p.m. (ESPN3 live stream). Check back in to for updates.
