"It was good to see Dusty (Boyer) continue his winning and show the team what it takes to play solid tennis!" Nebraska Head Coach Kerry McDermott said. "Marc (Herrmann) played a solid match against Iowa earlier in the day and came up a little short in his second match today, but the effort was really good! Tom Blackwell is showing good form as he won two matches in the consolation draw and we need him to continue to get much-needed matches to help him get ready for the Big Ten Indoors next week. Hopefully Dusty can stay on a roll, keep his hopes alive and give himself a chance to win the tournament and make the National Indoors!"
The singles quarterfinals matches begin Sunday morning, where one Husker remains in the competition. NU's Boyer will search for a semi-final berth as he goes head-to-head with ITA pre-season No. 44-ranked Oklahoma's Dane Webb.
Nebraska's Blackwell is set to face Bradley's Weerasinghe in his third round match of the consolation bracket.
The results from Sunday's matches will be posted here on Huskers.com at the conclusion of the day's play. Go Big Red!
