The No. 5 Nebraska rifle team will compete in its final two matches of the regular season this weekend. The Huskers travel to West Point, N.Y. to test their skills against two top 15 teams.
On Saturday the team will face No. 15 NC State and on Sunday the team will challenge No. 6 Army.
“We are on the last stretch of our match marathon shooting four weekends in a row,” Coach Underwood said. “Over the last seven matches we have learned a great deal about how to compete.”
NC State is coming off a bye week, but prior to that the team finished first in The Citadel Invitational scoring 4,597 points.
Army defeated Navy last weekend by a score of 5,800-5,783.
Nebraska is ready for the challenge, despite having to compete on the road.
“Our team is now road tested and has proven that they compete against the best in any situation,” Underwood said.
Both matches are set to begin at 7 a.m.
