On Michigan State’s defense
“I’m not worried about their defense does. I’m worried about the offense and keeping them out of the end zone.”

On the difference between Michigan State’s defense from 2011 and 2012
“I couldn’t really tell you back that far. They have a good offense this season. They are similar type of offense, how they want to run the ball, throw it, passing routes, concepts. We need to stop them on early downs.”

On the changes since the Minnesota game
“Preparation. We are preparing harder and practicing harder. Its leading to good game play.”

On the importance of the weekend
“It’s a huge weekend, Michigan State leads our division. We need to get this win to accomplish the team goals we set out at the beginning of the season.”

On Nebraska’s safeties
“I think they’ve grown into their role. They are comfortable back there. They have become comfortable with playing time. Those guys have a feel for the game and they communicate, which is key.”

On Andrew Green
“He’s a great guy and a good football player. He does anything for the team. I can’t count on him late in the game to be in the right spot.”

On performing late in games.
“It’s a mindset. When we take the field in tough situations, you have to toughen up.”

What’d it feel like to hear Michigan’s crowd on Saturday
“You don’t want a guy like Devin Gardner to get in an offensive rhythm. We did a good job of disrupting timing.”

On blitzing more
“We’ve been practicing hard during the week. Ultimately it translates to good game play. You create good habits in practice, it’s like second nature out there on Saturday.”

What’s a good practice
“You just watch the film. You can tell guys are flying around and communicating. It’s not just the 1’s, the 2’s, its everybody.”

Who’s made the most strides in communications
“Probably the linebackers. They have picked up what they have needed to do. Michael Rose did a good job on Saturday, and (David) Santos too. They put us in position to make plays. That’s what you have to do as a defense, communicate.”
