Jackson Tabbed Scholar All-American
Lincoln - Nebraska soccer senior Jordan Jackson was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Third Team on Wednesday. Jackson, a four-time academic all-conference performer, will graduate this Saturday with a degree in nutrition, exercise and health science.
The Overland Park, Kan. native is one of four Big Ten honorees to earn scholar all-america distinction. Jackson has compiled a 3.34 GPA during her five seasons in Lincoln. She is currently training with the United States Under-23 national team camp in Sunrise, Fla.
Jackson completed her stellar NU career by earning 2013 Big Ten Midfielder of the Year honors with 30 points on nine goals and a conference-best 12 assists, which ranked 11th nationally. The senior right-winger became the eighth NU player to reach the 100-point plateau and concludes her Husker career ranking in the Top 10 in four offensive categories.
To be named to a Scholar All-America Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; and be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member.
