Jane Startin competed in 21 singles matches for the Huskers during the spring, finishing with six wins on the season, almost doubling her career total of seven she entered the season with. Most of her matches came at No. 5 singles, compiling a 5-13 record at the postition, but also picked up a win at the No. 4 spot. In doubles play, Startin paired with freshman Lisa Hart and earned a 3-7 record, going 2-4 at No. 1 doubles and 1-3 at No. 2. Startin also put together a 4-4 record with fellow senior Frauke Hachtmann in the No. 2 slot.
Startin finished the season with a 3-7 record and a mark of 1-1 against conference foes. She teamed with Michelle Waldhauser at the No. 3 doubles spot, earning a 5-9 record.
While playing at No. 6 singles, Startin earned a 3-9 record, 1-4 in the Big Eight. She teamed with Waldhauser at the No. 3 doubles position to earn a 6-9 record overall, 2-5 in the conference race. Startin also won one of three matches at the Big Eight Championships.
Startin finished with a 1-9 record overall in a backup role.
Jane is the daughter of James and Gillian Startin. Jane has been a representative to the Nebraska Student-Athlete Advisory Board for the last two years and is majoirng in internal affairs.
