Heidi Junius was a staple in the Husker lineup, playing in 25 singles matches during the season, almost all coming at the No. 5 position. Junius ended the year with a singles record of 11-14, but played phenomenally in a 12-game stretch during the middle of the season, posting an 8-4 mark over those games. On the doubles court, Junius paired with three different partners to put together a combined 9-12 record during the season. She paired with fellow senior Zarina Galvan for most of those matches, notching a 6-10 record as a duo at No. 1 doubles. Junius also found success when matched with Tina Coutretsis, another senior teammate, going 3-1 as a tandem.
Junius finished the season with a 6-12 overall record and was 1-6 in the Big Eight. At the Big Eight Championships, she won all three of her matches at No. 5 singles. In doubles play, Junius paired with Zarina Galvan at the No. 2 spot to compile a 3-4 record on the season.
Junius played well on both the singles and doubles court as a sophomore. Junius compiled a 5-5 record in singles play and teamed up with Tina Coutretsis to finish third at the Big Eight Championships in doubles.
At Bradenton Academy, Junius was ranked 20th nationally in her senior season under the direction of Coach Pat Dougherty.
A native of Bush, La., Junius is majoring in speech communication.
