BTN Releases 2014 Baseball TV Schedule

@ Minnesota, Sunday, April 13 (from 1:05 p.m. to 2:05 p.m.)

Lincoln - On Wednesday afternoon the Big Ten Conference and the Big Ten Network announced their TV and Big Ten Digital Network (video.btn.com) schedules for the 2014 baseball season. The Huskers are slated to make six nationally-televised appearances on BTN, with another 11 games streamed live on the Big Ten Digital Network (subscription required).

A total of 14 Nebraska baseball games will be on TV in 2014, as eight other games will be covered by NET, Cox Sports TV, FSN and CBS Sports Network.

Overall, 37 Nebraska baseball games, including every home game, will either be on TV or streamed live on the Internet in 2014, as Nebraska’s own HuskersNSide will carry every home game not selected by BTN, NET or BTDN.

BTN will offer its most extensive baseball and softball coverage ever, with over 240 events airing on BTN, BTN2Go and the Big Ten Digital Network for the 2014 season.

Highlights and coverage of Big Ten baseball and softball will be featured on This Week in the Big Ten, a new studio show which airs Sunday nights beginning Sunday, April 6. Hosts Rick Pizzo, Mike Hall and various analysts will discuss Big Ten matchups and breakout performances from the weekend’s games. The Diamond Report will return with nightly airings during the baseball and softball tournaments.

Big Ten Network/BTN2Go Coverage
Nebraska makes its first appearance on BTN on Sunday, March 30 at 1:05 p.m. during the finale of a three-game series with the UNLV Rebels. Two weeks later the Huskers will be in Minneapolis, Minn., for a three-game series with the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the finale on Sunday, April 13 will be shown live on BTN at 2:05 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for 1:05 p.m., but was bumped back an hour to accommodate TV.

Fans will see the Huskers on BTN two nights later at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15 when the Huskers welcome the Kansas State Wildcats to Hawks Field. BTN will show the Huskers’ series opener with the Northwestern Wildcats on Friday, April 18. The game was originally scheduled for 6:35 p.m., but has been moved to 7:05 p.m. for TV coverage.

Nebraska’s final two appearances on BTN will come against the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing, Mich. The Huskers and Spartans will meet at 2:05 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, and also on Monday, May 12, at 12:05 p.m.

NET Coverage
NET is scheduled to carry five Nebraska baseball games this season, including four games at Hawks Field that will also be streamed live on the Big Ten Digital Network. The Huskers’ first appearance on the statewide network is slated for Saturday, April 5, when the Huskers host the Ohio State Buckeyes at 2:05 p.m.

Three days later on Tuesday, April 8, the Huskers will be at TD Ameritrade Park to face the Creighton Bluejays and NET will have the game at 6:30 p.m.

After fans watch the Huskers face Northwestern on BTN on Friday, April 18, they can then watch the Huskers and Wildcats battle on NET the following afternoon at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday, April 19.

When Penn State makes its first ever trip to Lincoln for a three-game series that starts on Friday, May 2, NET will have the series opener that is slated for 6:35 p.m. NET wraps up its coverage two weeks later on Friday, May 16, when the Huskers host the Illinois Fighting Illini at 6:35 p.m.

Other TV Coverage
Nebraska baseball is slated to make three other TV appearances in 2014 when it is on the road.

The Huskers are schedule to be on FSN Kansas City next Wednesday, March 26 at 6:35 p.m. when they visit the Kansas State Wildcats in Manhattan, Kan.

Nebraska’s game against Arkansas on Tuesday, April 1 at 6:35 p.m. in Fayetteville, Ark., will be shown live on Cox Sports TV.

Nebraska’s third game against Creighton on Tuesday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m. is scheduled for a national TV broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.
