2017: Nate Fisher made 15 appearances covering 27.2 innings out of the bullpen • Went 1-1 with 23 strikeouts and nine walks • Longest outing was 4.2 innings on March 25 at Cal Poly where he recorded four strikeouts to earn the win • Matched his career high with four strikeouts at Omaha in 3.1 innings on April 5 • In six consecutive relief appearances from March 31 to April 22, he did not give up a run • The scoreless innings streak included back-to-back 2.0-inning showings on April 18 at Creighton and April 22 at Minnesota.
2016: Fisher had Tommy John surgery in the summer of 2015 and missed the 2016 season.
2015: Fisher made nine appearances out of the bullpen in 2015 and finished the year with one save and a 3.86 ERA over 9.1 innings • Struck out eight on the year, while giving up five walks and eight hits • Tossed an inning of scoreless relief and struck out two Cougars in his collegiate debut against BYU on Feb. 20 • Didn’t allow a run and struck out six batters in 4.0 innings over his first four appearances • All four of the earned runs he gave up on the season came in two outings • Closed out NU’s victory over Omaha on April 15 for his first career save.
Before Nebraska: Fisher graduated from Yutan High School, where he was a team captain in baseball, football and basketball • Played for the Platte Valley Patriots, which included players from Yutan, Ashland and Mead high schools • Was a 2014 second-team All-Nebraska selection by the Omaha World-Herald and a second-team Super-State pick by the Lincoln Journal Star • Earned first-team Class B all-state honors from both state newspapers in 2014 • Was 5-1 in 2014 with a 1.67 ERA and 87 strikeouts • Also was productive at the plate with a .500 average and three home runs • Averaged nearly a double-double per game on the hardwood with 20.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game • Excelled in the classroom and was a four-year member of the student council, while also serving as Student Body President in 2013.
