Allison Morris captured honorable-mention NTCA All-America accolades as one of the top bowlers for a Nebraska team that advanced to the NCAA semifinals. She competed in all 10 tournaments for the Huskers in 2018-19, earning four top-10 finishes throughout the season. Morris captured the individual title at the Warhawk Classic after posting the sixth-best average in school history (238.8). She added another individual tournament title with a win at the Sunshine State Classic with a 225.8 average.
Her 203.3 average on the season (including the NCAA Tournament) trailed only first-team NTCA All-Americans Meghan Straub and Raquel Orozco among the Huskers.
Outside the lanes, Morris added Academic All-Big Ten honors and was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for the eighth consecutive semester. She also earned her fourth straight selection to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska as an accounting major in May of 2019.
In her sophomore season, Morris saw action in six of Nebraska’s nine tournaments throughout the season and had an average score of 202.5. Morris notched a pinfall of 725 in four games at the NCAA Championship to help Nebraska make it to the national semifinal.
Morris had two runner-up finishes individually during the season. She placed second at both the Mid-Winter Classic (1,169) and at the Central Missouri Invite (1,029). Her score of 1,169 at the Mid-Winter Classic was her best score of the season. The Ann Arbor, Mich., native posted a score above a 200 average in four of the seven events she competed in.
Outside of bowling, Morris succeeded as well. She was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and named Academic All-Big Ten. Morris also earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and was a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
2016-17 (Redshirt Freshman)
Morris saw action as a key reliever in three tournaments in 2017, as she posted an average of 181.3 in six traditional matches as a redshirt freshman.
Morris bowled in a pair of traditional matches at the Central Missouri Mid-America Invitational, firing an average of 204 to help the Huskers to the team title. She also competed at the Mid-Winter Invitational and the Wildcat Invitational during the season.
A standout in the classroom and the community, Morris earned a Sam Foltz Hero 27 Leadership Award, which was presented to 27 student-athletes across all Nebraska's sports that exhibit strong leadership qualities, commitment to service and ability to encourage and empower others. Morris was also named to the NTCA All-Academic Team for the second time, and she earned Academic All-Big Ten honors for the first time in 2017. She was also named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters, and she earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for her work in the community in 2017.
Morris redshirted during the 2015-16 season. She got off to a strong start academically, as she was named to the NTCA All-Academic Team in 2016. The freshman from Ann Arbor, Mich., was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters and the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2016.
Morris ended her high school career at Ann Arbor Huron as one of the nation's top recruits. She was an MHSAA individual state champion in 2012 and 2015 for Coaches Marti Marshall and Juan Matthews. She bowled two perfect 300 games and was a member of the all-state first team in 2012, 2014 and 2015. She was named Detroit Free-Press 2015 “Miss Bowling” and she was the 2014 and 2015 Ann Arbor News Girls High School Bowler of the Year. She also played field hockey in high school, and was a member of the 2013 MHSFHA state championship team. Morris was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with honors.
The daughter of Jason and Laura Morris, Allison was born Aug. 5, 1997. She has one brother, Alex. Allison majored in accounting and earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2019. She earned NTCA All-Academic Team honors in 2016 and 2017. She was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. She was also an eight-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She earned a Sam Foltz Hero 27 Leadership Award in 2017, and she is a four-year member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
