2018-19 Outlook
Raquel Orozco earned first team All-American honors in 2017-18 and won two individual titles last season. The Aurora, Ill. native will look to continue her success in the the 2018-19 season.

2017-18 (Sophomore)
 In her second season at Nebraska, Orozco notched first team All-American accolades. She competed in all nine tournaments for the Huskers in 2017-18 and had an average of 211.4. Orozco recorded a pinfall of 829 in four games to help Nebraska make it to the national semifinal at the NCAA Championship.

Orozco won two tournaments, had five top five finishes and one top 10 finish during the season. She won both the Crusader Classic (1,073) and the Central Missouri Invitational (1,038). Her best pinfall of the season was 1,199 at the Prairie View A&M Invite. Orozco posted an average above 200 in seven of Nebraska’s nine tournaments throughout the year.

During her sophomore season, Orozco continued her stellar work in the classroom and community. She received the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award and was a member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. Orozco also continued being a role model in the community and was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

2016-17 (Freshman)
Raquel Orozco became an immediate contributor for the Huskers as a freshman in 2016-17, competing in nine of NU's 10 events. She posted an average of 202.3 in 21 games on the season, which ranks sixth among freshman in program history.

Orozco helped the Huskers to a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championship, as she finished 16th overall with an average of 202.6. Orozco finished 19th with an average of 204.6 at the SFA Stormin' Ladyjack Invitational to help the Huskers to a second-place finish.

In three matches at the Central Missouri Mid-America Invitational, Orozco bowled an average of 209.7 to help NU to the team title. At the Mid-Winter Invitational, she came off the bench to bowl a game of 247 on the way to helping NU claim its first tournament championship of the year.

She got off to an excellent start in the classroom and the community, as she was named to the NTCA All-Academic Team in 2017 and the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in fall and spring semesters of 2016-17. She was also a member of the 2017 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Before Nebraska
Orozco has been a member of Junior Team Mexico for five years and is a six-time national champion. In the summer before her freshman season, Orozco competed for her country as a member of Junior Team Mexico, and saw extended action at the World Bowling Youth Championships at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln. She won multiple medals representing her country internationally, including a gold medal in trios at the 2015 Youth Pan American Bowling Confederation Championships in Panama City, Panama. Orozco has posted a high game of 300 and a high series of 790. She became the first player to join the Nebraska bowling program from Mexico.

Personal
Raquel is the daughter of Felipe Orozco and Maribel De Leon. Raquel was born on Jan. 4, 1998. She has one sister, Maribel. She is majoring in marketing at Nebraska, and was named to the NTCA All-Academic Team in 2017. Orzco also earned first-team All-American honors in 2018.Orozco is a five-time selection to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and is a three-year member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She also received the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award for her work in the classroom during the 2018 season.
