2017-18 (Sophomore)
Sophomore Abigail Knapton continued to improve from her dominant freshman campaign, capturing 19 top-five finishes, including 12 victories and 5 runner-up finishes. The Omaha native compiled two career bests at the NCAA Zones in the one meter (535.85) and the platform (589.70) dives. At the 2018 Big Ten Championships, Knapton competed on all three diving boards; three meter (ninth), platform (10th) and one meter (26th). The Academic All-Big Ten competed in her second consecutive NCAA Championship producing an eighth-place finish on the platform board (286.15) and 22nd on the three meter board (307.60). She was a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for the second year.

2016-17 (Freshman)
Knapton kicked off her diving career strong with 17 top-five finishes, including three victories as a freshman for the Huskers in 2016-17. Knapton notched a victory at the 2017 NCAA Zone D Diving Meet in platform with a total of 553.00. The Omaha freshman qualified for 2017 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in the three-meter and platform dive. Knapton competed in all three dives at the Big Ten Championships, finishing 14th on platform (257.50), 11th on the one-meter dive (285.60) and earned ninth on three meter (337.35).  She set two career bests at Illinois in both the one-meter (294.98) for a runner-up finish and in the three meter (343.12) to capture her first dual victory. She also finished second on platform at the Jean Freeman Invite with a career-best 318.70. Knapton earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters.

Knapton was one of the state's top divers as a senior at Omaha Marian High School in 2016. The Nebraska state runner-up in the one-meter dive as a senior, Knapton helped the Crusaders to a state runner-up finish as a team. Knapton was also the runner-up at the Region 8 Championships. A strong performer in the classroom as well, Knapton earned the President's Award for Educational Excellence. She was also an honor roll student at Omaha Marian throughout her high school career.

The daughter of Emily and Jeffery Knapton, Abigail was born April 23, 1998 in Cheyenne, Wyo. Abigail has one younger sister, Nettie-Clare. A pre-health major, Abigail was a first-team CSCAA Scholar All-American in 2017. She claimed her first Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten awards in 2018. She is a four-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection. She is also a two-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She chose Nebraska over Wyoming, Utah, Ohio, Army West Point, Virginia Tech, Arkansas and Boise State.
