Indianapolis - Freshman Abgail Knapton finished sixth in the platform prelims at the NCAA Championships on Saturday with a final score of 286.55. With this performance, she has earns a spot in Saturday evening's eight-person finals and clinches All-America honors.

Knapton overcame a nervous first round and made her way up the standings with her final four dives to finish sixth.

"It was truly unbelievable to witness her comeback after that first dive," Nebraska Coach Pablo Morales said. "It looked like she went into attack mode against a great field of divers. To show that kind of moxie was amazing to see from a freshman."

Knapton is coming off an impressive first-place finish in the platform last week in the NCAA Zone D Diving Championship.
