Nebraska Comes Up Short Against Purdue

West Lafayette, Ind.-- The Nebraska Cornhuskers suffered a 7-0 setbacl at the Purdue Boilermakers on Sunday.

Doubles started off with David Samardzija and Micah Klousia playing against Athell Bennett and Gergely Madarasz in the No. 2 spot, falling 6-3. Purdue took the doubles point when Chris Dean and Rok Krizaj fell to their opponents, 6-3. Toby Boyer and his partner Dylan Bednarczyk went unfinished in the No. 1 spot.

In singles, Krizaj competed against Athell Bennett in the No. 5 spot but fell 6-1, 6-0. Dean also fell to the Stephan Koenigsfest, 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 4 position. In the No. 2 spot, Boyer battled against Ricky Medinilla but the point favored Purdue, 6-1, 6-4. Jon Meyer played against Lucas Omer Dages but lost 6-2, 6-3. In the No. 3 spot, Micah Klousia played a tough three games against his opponent, to fall in the tiebreaker 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (11-9). To finish up singles play, Dylan Bednarczyk fought hard against Gergely Madarasz but the seventh point went to the Boilmakers, 7-6 (7-7), 6-4. 

NU is back in action at home Friday, April 21 against Michigan State at 4 p.m. Admission to all home matches is free.
