Outlook (2017-18)
A walk-on to the Nebraska program after a strong high school career in Beatrice, 2016 Class B champion Kirste Baete joins the Huskers as a freshman in 2017-18. Baete, who was a two-time all-state selection for the Lady Orange, is expected to redshirt in her first season with the Huskers.

The four-time all-conference golfer was also a three-time basketball letterwinner at Beatrice, and her all-around athleticism and strength could help her develop as a golfer in the future for the Big Red.

"Kirsten has a lot of raw talent and skills," Nebraska Coach Robin Krapfl said. "She is going to redshirt and it will be fun to see how much she improves over the course of the next year. She has a lot of power. Once she becomes a little more consistent and learns a little better course management, her length will allow her to overpower a lot of the courses we play.
