Former Husker Brady Schnell Wins Argentine Open
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina - Former Nebraska golfer Brady Schnell won the annual VISA Open de Argentina on Sunday. After placing in the top 10 three times at major Web.com Tour events in the last three years, Schnell finally took home his first individual title as a professional golfer with a stroke score of 272. With the win, Schnell earned a spot at the 2018 British Open at Carnoustie Championship Course in Scotland.
Schnell graduated from Nebraska in 2008 after a very successful collegiate career. He was named first team All-Big 12 his senior year and won the first place crown of the Herb Wimbley Intercollegiate. He placed 37th overall at the NCAA Central Regional in his final year as a Husker.
Schnell takes home the cash prize of $30,000 after his win in Argentina as well as his first individual title since his professional career began in 2007. He will advance to compete in his first major championship in July, 2018 when he takes on the prestigious course at Carnoustie.
