Huskers Join National Rankings

The Nebraska swim and dive team continues their rise into national exposure with their 43rd national ranking on Multiple individual Huskers are joining both the national and conference rankings in their respective events.

All-American Abigail Knapton is ranked sixth nationally and second in the Big Ten in the platform dive event with her score of 270.60 from the Mizzou Invitational. She also holds the 7th spot in the conference in the one-meter dive (303.15) and third in the three-meter (348.50).

Freshman standout Autumn Haebig earned a 12th-place ranking in the conference and 41st in the nation after her performance in the 500-yard freestyle USA Swimming Nationals (4:42.80). She also owns the 10th-fastest time in the conference in the 50-yard backstroke (25.41).

Anna McDonald is 24th in the Big Ten in the 200-yard backstroke with her time from the USA Swimming Nationals (1:59.24). 

Sophomore Tori Beeler is 16th in the conference in the 200-yard individual medley (1:59.38). She is also 14th in the Big Ten in the 100-yard breastroke (1:01.42), followed by team captain Jordan Ehly who holds the 17th spot (1:01.62).

Ehly also holds the seventh-fastest time in the Big Ten and the 36th fastest in the nation in the 200-yard breastroke. Beeler is ninth in the conference (2:12.24) and Gwen Worlton is 10th (2:12.66).

In the 100-yard butterfly, freshman Izzie Murray lands at 21st (54.18) and Dana Posthuma follows at 25th (54.35) in the conference. 

Freshman Alli Kopas is 20th in the Big Ten in the 400-yard individual medley (4:18.01) followed by Madison Coughlen for 22nd (4:19.09).

Team captain Kaylyn Flatt sits at 15th in the Big Ten in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:04.91) 

Lindsay Helferich is 23rd in the Big Ten (23.13) in the 50-yard freestyle and 30th in the 100-yard freestyle (50.43).

The Huskers started their season strong with 60 career best times and 22 NCAA qualifying B-cut times. The Big Red will return to the pool Jan. 13th against Omaha.
