By NU Athletic Communications

Jonesboro, Ark.- The top-ranked Nebraska bowling team returned to the lanes on Friday at the Mid-Winter Invitational with a 5-0 record and a total pinfall of 5,053 in five sets of five-game Baker format matches, a performance good for second place in the overall standings.

The Huskers kicked off the tournament with a win over Louisiana Tech University, 1,016-893. The Huskers followed that victory with another over No. 2 McKendree by a score of 975-872.

The Huskers continued their winning ways, taking down third-ranked Arkansas State 1,046-952 and No. 9 Tulane, 981-952.

In their final match of the day, the Huskers cruised to victory over Drury 1,035-843.

The Huskers continue play on Saturday starting at 9:30 a.m. (CT) with a match against Lincoln University. NU will then play Alabama A&M, No. 5 Sam Houston State, No. 20 Maryville and No. 11 Central Missouri to finish out the traditional style matches. Friday and Saturday’s combined results will determine the seeding for Sunday’s bracket-play championship tournament, in which each team will play three rounds of best-of-seven Baker matches, beginning at 8:30 a.m. (CT).
