By NU Athletic Communications

Charleston, S.C – The Nebraska rifle team is sitting in seventh at the NCAA Championships following the completion of team and individual smallbore competition. The Huskers posted a team score of 2,310, tying Ohio State. The teams also tied in number of centershots (100) so the tie was broken by the lowest scoring member of each team, when usually only the top four scorers are counted towards the score. Kentucky finished the day in first with a score of 2,345, followed by West Virginia (2,327) and TCU (2,326). Murray State took fourth with 2,324 and Air Force was in fifth with 2,319.  Alaska finished sixth with 2,312.

Emily Cheramie paced NU in smallbore and took ninth overall with an aggregate score of 583. Dacotah Faught and Samantha Peterson added consistency to Nebraska’s effort, both bringing in 576. Nina Radulovic notched 575. Kayla Gadeken’s score of 573 rounded out the Huskers and ultimately was the deciding factor in the tie for seventh place.
