Nebraska diver Abigail Knapton and swimmer Autumn Haebig travel to Columbus, Ohio for the 2018 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, March 14-17.

Knapton is led by head diving coach Natasha Chikina. The native of Kazakhstan has guided the Huskers to 34 NCAA Zone Diving appearances in the last 11 years. Coach Chikina is a two-time Olympic qualifier, competing in Atlanta (1996) and Sydney (2000). It marks the second consecutive season that Chikina has helped Knaption qualify for the NCAA Championships and marks the fifth straight season the Huskers have had a diver qualify for the NCAA Championships under coach Natasha Chikina.

All-American Abi Knapton will make her second consecutive NCAA Championship appearance in the three-meter and platform dives. Knapton is coming off of a runner-up finish at the Zone D diving meet in the platform. She added an 11th-place finish in the three-meter dive. At the 2018 Big Ten Championships, Knapton placed 10th with a score of 317.00 in platform. She added a ninth-place conference finish on the three-meter board, while taking 26th in the one-meter event.

Knapton, a sophomore out of Omaha Marian High School, has tallied 19 top-five finishes this season, including 12 event titles. The Omaha native earned All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in the platform dive at the 2017 NCAA Championships.

A standout freshman, Autumn Haebig will make her first NCAA Championship debut in the 100 backstroke. Haebig enters the big stage off of a 10th-place finish at the 2018 Big Ten Championships. In the 500-yard freestyle, Haebig broke  her own school record with a new time of 4:42.69. She finished 12th overall in the finals. The Wisconsin native has tallied 14 top-five finishes, including six victories this season.

This marks the first time that a swimmer has been in the NCAA Championships since Taryn Collura in the 2012-13 season.

A total of 322 women will compete in the NCAA Diving Championships, including 281 swimmers and 41 divers.

The 2018 NCAA Championships begin with preliminaries at 11 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m. each day. ESPN3 will live stream finals on Friday and Saturday evening. Live results will be available on Check back in to for updates.
