Wagner Sets a PR at Spec Towns Invitational

Athens, Ga. - Nebraska sophomore Cale Wagner set a personal best with 7,292 points in the decathlon at the Spec Towns Invitational, as he set PRs in a pair of events on Saturday at Spec Towns Track.

Wagner finished fifth overall and fourth among collegiate competitors with his point total, which ranks 10th overall on the NU all-time chart.

He set an all-time PR in the pole vault, as he cleared a bar of 14-4 (4.37m) to finish third among collegiate competitors. He also posted a personal-best throw of 129-6 (39.48m) in the discus. Wagner finished third in the 1,500m with a time of 4:46.67.

Jared Seay set a PR in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.60, good for second place. He finished with a point total of 6,105.

Cody Walton set a pair of personal bests on Friday, but did not compete in the last two events on Friday and did not compete on Saturday.

Nebraska's full team returns to action next Friday and Saturday, April 13-14, at the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. Action both days is scheduled to begin at noon (CT).
