NU Meets North Carolina A&T Friday in Elimination Match

The top-seeded Nebraska bowling team went 1-1 at the first day of the 2018 NCAA Championship at Tropicana Lanes in St. Louis, Mo. 

In their first traditional match of the day, the Huskers defeated eighth-seed Lincoln Memorial 1,031-972. The Huskers continued their dominance through the five-game Baker match, taking the Lady Railsplitters out 1,062-945. This victory sent the Huskers to play fourth-seeded Vanderbilt. 

Vanderbilt came out strong, beating the Huskers 967-935 in the traditional portion of the day. The Huskers fell again to the Commodores, 1,036-983, in the best-of-seven Baker matches.  

Sam Houston State will face Arkansas State Friday morning to determine who will play Vanderbilt in the semi-finals.

The Huskers continue their quest for another national championship Friday at 9 a.m., playing North Carolina A&T. The winner of this match-up will go on to play second-seeded McKendree in the semi-finals.
