Huskers Close Spring Season With Win Over Buffs

By NU Athletic Communications

Lincoln - Nebraska finished its spring season with a 2-0 victory over Colorado, a 2017 NCAA Tournament team, on Saturday night at Barbara Hibner Stadium.

With the win, Nebraska closes the spring with a 3-0-1 record.

Nebraska got on the board first by virtue of an own goal by Colorado in the 13th minute. NU's Meg Brandt found Savannah Uvegas, who fired a shot that was saved by the Colorado goalkeeper, before it was deflected into the net by a Colorado defender. Action was evenly-matched in the first half, as Colorado had seven shots and Nebraska had six, while both sides had four shots on frame.

NU added an additional goal in the 88th minute, as Elyse Huber gathered a long pass and finished a low shot past the Colorado goalkeeper for a breakaway goal.

Rising junior goalkeeper Aubrei Corder made five saves on the night. NU outshot the Buffaloes by a 15-14 margin, and put nine shots on goal for the game.

Nebraska’s 2018 regular-season schedule will be announced in the near future. Check Huskers.com for updates on the Husker soccer team.
