Moss, Mohammed Go 1-2 in 800m at Drake Relays
Des Moines, Iowa - Three Nebraska athletes competed at the prestigious Drake Relays on Thursday at Drake Stadium, with Ty Moss taking the title in the men's unseeded 800m.
Moss won the men's unseeded 800m with a time of 1:50.44, while Mohammed was right behind in 1:50.48.
Austin Post took ninth in the 10,000m with a time of 31:07.25.
Nebraska's full team will be in action Friday at the Texas Tech Corky/Crofoot Shootout in Lubbock, Texas. Field events begin at 11 a.m., while running events get started at 6 p.m.
Strong Showing For Husker Athletes at Prairie Wolf Invitational
Lincoln, Neb. - Some Nebraska athletes were also in action on Thursday at the Prairie Wolf Invitational hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan at Greeno Track.
On the track, George Siliman, competing unattached, won the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 14.62 in the finals, after posting a 15.59 to finish second in qualifying. Ryan Bates won the 1,500m with a time of 4:05.99. Noah Lukz, competing unattached, won the men's 200m with a PR time of 21.91.
Shauna Tweedy won the javelin with a throw of 111-4 (33.93m). Shelby Brown, competing unattached, won the women's discus with a PR throw of 168-8 (51.43m). Michael Williams won the men's high jump with a leap of 6-7 (2.01m).
Freshman Bryce Barrett, competing unattached, took second in the men's 400m with a time of 49.28 and was the top collegiate finisher, placing only behind former Husker All-American Cody Rush who won the event with a time of 48.43.
Lukz was the top collegiate finisher in the 100m with a PR time of 10.73 in the finals, after bettering his previous PR in the qualifying round with a time of 10.89.
