Five Huskers Named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans

By NU Athletic Communications

The Nebraska women's swimming and diving team continued to succeed in both in the water and in the classroom in 2017-18, after receiving multiple scholastic honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their academic performance in the spring semester.

As a team, the Huskers captured the CSCAA Scholastic Team Award with a 3.37 grade-point average. This is the 12th time the Huskers have earned this award since the CSCAA's first annoucement in 2010.

Individually, five Huskers were named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans, sophomore Abi Knapton earning this title for the second consecutive year. Freshman standout Autumn Haebig followed in her footsteps, being named a first team All-American in her first year with the Huskers.

Lindsay Helferich, Anna McDonald and Izzie Murray all added honorable-mention 2018 CSCAA Scholar All-America awards.

The first-team CSCAA Scholastic All-America honors recognize student-athletes who have achieved a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective swimming and diving national championship meets. To earn honorable-mention CSCAA Scholastic All-America status, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.50 or better GPA while attaining an NCAA B qualifying standard during the season or participating in an NCAA regional or zone diving competition.
